FORTUNE PAI GOW POKER Fortune Pai Gow Poker is identical to the normal Pai Gow Poker game with the exception of an optional Bonus Wager side bet. Craftsman table saw miter bar. When a player makes the Bonus Wager they are betting that of the seven cards they receive, they will be able to create a qualifying five-card poker rank hand. The Bonus Wager wins. Pai Gow poker is a simple table game that offers the player a chance to hit a big hand that can pay as high as 8,000:1 on their bet. Players are dealt seven cards which they then break up into a five-card hand and a two-card hand using Pai Gow poker strategy (more on that below). In Fortune Pai Gow Poker, a player can place an optional Fortune Bonus Bet. A player that wagers at least $5 on the Fortune Bonus Bet qualifies for an Envy Bonus prize. Type of card deck used: Fortune Pai Gow Poker is played with a standard 52 card deck including a joker for a total of 53 cards. As the name implies, Pai Gow Poker is a combination of the games Pai Gow and Poker. Players arrange 7 cards to make 2 poker hands. The game’s low variance and moderate house edge make it a useful option for bonus play when blackjack, video poker, and hold’em are not available.I’ve come across a curious little bet on Fortune Pai Gow Poker and Face Up Pai Gow called the Low-Ball bet. I was curious in how this plays out in relation to the main bet. It seems like a way one might hedge their losses. The tables in question also include a fortune bonus.
Odds for the low-ball are as follows:
9-hi 150:1
10-hi 50:1
J-hi. 20:1
Q-hi 10:1
K-hi 4:1
A-hi 1:1gordonm888

Given this is much worse than the pay table on that page, I would recommend avoiding this particular paytable for the sidebet.KeeperofcardsReally? I’m getting 7.4%, which seems much closer considering the house edge on the insurance bet mentioned is 7.3%charliepatrickPaysProbabilityReturn150.000 201 631.030 244 62750.001 613 047.080 652 33920.006 250 556.125 011 12610.017 642 699.176 426 9924.041 435 139.165 740 5571.093 619 383.093 619 383-1.839 237 545-.839 237 5451.000 000 000-.167 542 520KeeperofcardsAh sorry, mistyped on the A-hi. I see you corrected the payout to 2-1 later. So ’only’ 7% house edge. When you say ’hedge your losses’, while that may be sort of correct, ’hedge your losses’ then also includes ’diminish your wins’. And the ’diminish your wins’ will be 7% greater than the positive of ’hedging your losses’. Someone with better math skills than me can show that you will be decreasing variance by making that side bet. And remember, when playing a negative EV game like Pai Gow, if your goal is to try and eke out a win, variance is your friend.
I personally have hit 3 perfect 9 high hands in my illustrious pai gow career. None were on tables with the side bet offer.DeucekiesLooks like it functions the same as Emperor’s Challenge, which usually pays 3/5/6/15/25/100. Your paytable is top-heavy, which invariably means a much higher house edge.Casinos are not your friends, they want your money. But so does Disneyland. And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with. - AxelWolf and MickeycrimmJeffRWhen I play, I rarely play this bet. If I do, it’s only on a whim. Yet I’m constantly told the following:
’The only way you are gonna make money on this game is to bet the bonus.’
The Wizard (and the math) tells me this is a sucker bet. I do see people hit it frequently (of course I never do). What’s your opinion on this bet?Wulfgar1224

I don’t make that bet and I’ve never encountered a situation where I would’ve won anything. I think bets like that are a casino’s way of decimating your bankroll. But, it is gambling. You could always get lucky and hit the big jackpot. It really is a personal preference.DJTeddyBear
’The only way you are gonna make money on this game is to bet the bonus.’
This statement refers to most games that pay more-or-less even money, where there are side bets.
The -ahem- truth in that statement comes from the side bet’s potential large payout. Yeah, if you hit one of the higher payouts, you’re a happy camper and have made the money they’re talking about. But it comes at the cost of a high house edge.
But it is also false. You can make money just playing the basic game. With a good string of luck, and pressing your bets, you can do quite well without playing the side bet.I invented a few casino games.
